Knysna is easily accessible by flying into George and renting a car for the scenic 56km drive from George to Knysna. The town is also conveniently situated along the Cape Town - Port Elizabeth route on the N2 (approximately 500km east of Cape Town and approximately 270km west of Port Elizabeth) and is within easy self-drive distances from these and other major centres.

While we enjoy a warm summer, our winters rival a balmy European summer with daytime temperatures averaging at 19C. Water temperatures of our estuary average between 18C and 22C in summer and 12C to 18C during winter, with similar sea temperatures.
